NFL Canada in the community: Helping every child realize the joys of activity and sport

"Every child has a goal line in sight. We help them reach it."

NFL Canada receives requests for financial support from many of the more than 50,000 not-for-profit organizations in Canada. The National Football League is proud to assist not-for-profit and charitable organizations in Canada directly associated with football and youth health.

We believe that all children - regardless of economic status or ability - deserve a chance for good health and an active lifestyle.

As we cannot support all of the initiatives presented to us, we selectively support those that best match these priorities.

Therefore NFL Canada directs its support to groups that are dedicated to the health and well being of Canadian children, particularly those focusing this dedication through football and active lifestyles.

By partnering with Canadian communities in this way, we hope to:

  • Positively impact quality of life by encouraging active lifestyles, especially through football.
  • Make the benefits of sport and activity accessible to as many children in Canada as possible
  • Help ensure that the joys of sport and recreation reach children facing physical, intellectual and economic obstacles

Background information

Since its inception in 1997 NFL Canada has contributed more than $1,000,000 to charitable causes that share our vision for active children. Our community partners include:

  • Special Olympics Canada Wizard Foundation (NFL Corporate Fantasy Draft and Dinner)
  • The Foundation for Active Healthy Kids
  • Easter Seals Canada
  • The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)
  • City of Windsor Boundless Playground (a Super Bowl XL legacy project)

Football-specific projects can include field and facility renewals, equipment sharing and subsidizing, safety, and those that recruit the volunteer coaches and officials that are necessary for growing the game.
